Suppose
you walk into a grocery store with your 3 year old son. He instinctively
knows where the candy aisle is. He sprints to one of the old-fashioned
glass jars full of gum drops conveniently located at his level. He
wiggles the top open with ease. You jump to stop him. He does a
pump fake and smokes you with a quick spin move. He bolts straight for a
jar labeled "chocolate covered bacon balls!" In a split second,
the lid is off and he has one in his mouth. He flashes a semi-guilty smile,
oozing with chocolate and bacon. Its cute, but you're semi-flustered. You mumble something about
getting sick
from this odd combination of ingredients and how we should always pay for
things in stores. Then you grab his sticky fingers and run.
Of course this is purely hypothetical, and my son would never do
anything like this. But just in case he ever does, I'm wondering what a
good Mom would do?
