Summer travel

We had a lots of fun traveling with Kiran this summer.  We made it out to Urbana, IL to visit Troy and Shelley and Henry.  Kiran was very happy to meet his new cousin and he briefly held his hand and then gave him a little pinch.  He seemed just as happy to see Sutton's swing and little baby seat in their living room.  He jumped right back to his baby days, with his feet up in the air, swinging away.  Kiran had a blast in the park near Troy and Shelley's house, at least until he got attacked by a bee ... he got his first sting right on the thumb!
We had fun visiting Daddy's old stomping grounds and taking a building tour in Champaign with Thomas.  Kiran had his first professional haircut at the Depot Barber Shop in the old train station.  His hair was getting pretty shaggy, so we decided to give him a good summer cut.  The barber was great and he kept Kiran entertained.  We visited Anup and his family when we headed back to Chicago.   Kiran had fun playing with all the stuffed animals and exploring the house and garden.  They live near the airport and Kiran was very excited to see planes flying up above.
We traveled on to the Alpine Homestead for a few days with Grandma and Grandpa.  Linda also traveled up from NYC and we had fun visiting with her.  Kiran enjoyed playing with Jamie and Bailey, following them around and hugging them.  The dogs were very patient and gentle with him, even when he stuck his little fingers into their eyes and stepped on them!

Kiran had a great time playing in the water ... Schroon Lake, Minerva beach, and the kiddie pool.  He is a little fish, even when he's not dressed for swimming!  At Minerva beach, Grandpa treated Kiran to his first ice cream cone.  It was a yummy vanilla mess and he loved it!

Kiran's peach and pear trees are growing strong at the Alpine Homestead.  We planted them in honor of him last year, right before we moved to New Orleans.  Grandma and Grandpa are taking good care of the trees and maybe next year we will have some fruit?

It was fun visiting everyone and we're glad Kiran was such a good sport on the trip.  Now that we're back home, Kiran can't stop talking about the plane rides and going up in the air.  Next weekend we are up, up, and away again for a wedding in Vermont.
