Mardi Gras is just around the corner on February 17. In New Orleans, the lead up to Mardi Gras consists of parades, king cake, and beads galore! And police barricades, sirens, helicopters, and stumbling revelers. We live in the heart of the action, within the "parade box." This means that during the parades streets around us are closed and we can get trapped until things clear. We have next week off and we're looking forward to hanging out in the "box" and having some family fun.
Priya's first fever developed into her second fever on Friday, and her first ear infection was diagnosed on Saturday. Poor baby girl! She is doing better now and happily sipping down her "pink stuff" antibiotic. Her appetite is still low but she has that twinkle in her eye back and she's cracking jokes again. Its so nice to hear her chattering away again when she wakes up in the morning.
Kiran has been having fun in his costume drawer. He dug out his finest threads for the parades on Saturday... Sutton's tinker bell costume and his jester hat. On Sunday, he found his blue monster costume. It's a 2T, but he insists it still fits him. The orange horns make Priya laugh. Priya got her hands on his birthday cake hat and immediately buried herself in it! She's just getting warmed up for March 2!
