Fall fun!

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa this week!  They arrived in town on Tuesday and stayed with us until Saturday.  Our fall weather was a little cooler, but still hot by NY standards.  No fall foliage here, just palm trees and ancient live oaks!
Globetrotting Grandparents
Grandma and Grandpa helped us get some projects done around the house and had some adventures with the kids.  Kiran had fun driving the "love bug" at the Audubon Insectarium and Priya had a blast rolling all around the living room and reaching for her toys.  We had a fun dinner out celebrating Grandma's birthday at Mat and Naddie's.  Unfortunately the big kids were a little under the weather... Ram and I picked up sore throats just in time for fall break.  The rush of the semester and constant exposure to college-kid and daycare-kid germs did us in!   Kiran came down with hand, foot, and mouth, a virus that has been working its way around the daycare.  He's been mopey and doesn't like seeing red spots on his hands, but otherwise doing ok.  Priya is unscathed so far, but I've got her under the microscope looking for the first signs of illness!  Grandma gave her an extra special bath in the pink tub -- her first one sitting up like a big girl all by herself!  Surely that gave her an extra boost of immunity!

Grandma and Grandpa are enjoying some more fall fun with the Delaware Mixes this weekend, and then back to the grind at the Alpine Homestead!  Business is booming and keeping them very busy.  They have lots of wonderful reviews from their customers and many return again and again.  We hope they take another southern break and visit us again soon!
