Puppy love!

Kiran continues to be fascinated with his little four-legged friends.  He likes to look out the front door for dogs walking by.  Sometimes we watch from the front porch, and if he sees a dog, he shrieks and reaches for it.  We have started walking across the street to the dog park in the evenings before Kiran has dinner.   He is getting to know a few of the local pups there.  I find myself narrating the trips across the street with phrases from Kiran's favorite D-O-G book.  "Silky dog, scruffy dog, soft ears floppy...fleas make an itchy dog scratch, scratch, scratch."

Kiran had the chance to frolic with some puppies this morning.  We went to a birthday party at the SPCA on the West Bank.  I know that sounds like an odd place for a birthday party, but it was really sweet.  The kids made little cat masks, toured the kennels, and ate pizza and cat-cupcakes.  Our friend Isa was celebrating her 5th birthday with a few of her friends from school.  Kiran had a late nap this morning, so we only caught the "tail end" of the party.  But that was plenty exciting for him!  He got to pet a couple of puppies and had fun looking at all the cuddly critters eager to be adopted.  He even took a few bobbly steps towards one of the puppies!   Look out doggies, our little guy will be chasing after you soon!

Kiran also had some play time with a few bunnies this week.  He had his Easter picture taken at school and apparently one of the props was a basket full of live bunnies!  I haven't seen the prints yet, but his teacher told me "at least he wasn't crying."   His smile is getting cuter now that his little teeth are coming into view.  His two bottom teeth are in and his top teeth are on their way.
